Stress from past relationships isn't something easy to get rid of right away. But I find that the best way to get rid of stress from a past relationship would be to completely get the cause of the stress or them out of your life. It's going to be hard at first to go from being in a relationship with someone, to not having them in your life, but after time it will get a lot easier and you will be a lot less stressed out. Usually I'll delete their number from my phone, or as stupid as it sounds de-friend them on facebook, but it helps cut back the temptations of talking to them .
However, if the stress is more an personal thing and not so much with them, sometimes it's easier to resolve the problem. So if there's still something between you two, be the bigger person and try to resolve the problem, and then maybe take the next step to move on with your life.
